Josphat Kinyoe Karuega was born in Kiawaithanji village, Nyeri County, Kenya in 1948.

He was the fourth born son of the late Joseph Karuega Mwaniki and the Late Margaret Muthoni Karuega. 

Josphat was the beloved husband to Grace Wamuyu and a dear father to Jennifer Kinyoe, Hillary Kinyoe, Zipporah Murimi, Tabitha Kinyoe, Bernard Kinyoe and Jackson Kinyoe.  He was Father-in-law to Muthoni Mwangi and Abel Murimi.  Grandfather to Njeri, Kori, Rita, Terry and Tracy.

He was brother to Wachira, The late Nyambura Wambugu,The late Muchiri, Wangui Wambugu, Lucy Wachira and Elizabeth Wambugu.  

He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his friends and family.
